When I first got iTunes, it searched my computer for any other music I had on there and imported it into iTunes automatically for me.
But yes...you have to have iTunes to get music onto your iPod.

To download itunes is free but to download songs on itunes cost 99 cents. You should be able to rip from Windows Music Player.

iPods only work with iTunes, so you have to get iTunes. iPods come with installation disks. I don't know if you can get windows media music on an iPod, you could try to export the songs to iTunes, but I have a feeling it won't work-it wouldn't hurt to try. But I don't think it'll work.

You have to download Itunes in order to put the music on your own Ipod, but after your installation, you can copy what's in your music folder to your Itunes to put them on your new nano.

The only thing you can do is burn the songs you want on your iPod from Windows Media Player on Cd's. Then, burn those Cd's to the iTunes library which is free to get. Another option is to get free songs, videos, etc, from limewire.com.
