To Pat R, Mike, 2 plus 3, you are all mentally unstable. The Tories weren't brilliant at all, but in the last couple of years they managed to leave a reasonable economy for which this LAbour Government has built a good standing. But apart from the economy how can you honestly say Tony Blair has left the government in better standing than the Tories. He has had nearly 10 years to put right what the Tories basically left in a reasonable shape.
Lets look the evidence.
1. Council Tax - don't even bring up the Poll Tax - I amongst many others would be paying far less with the council tax, and now the council want to walk around my house and see if I have a conservatory and loft conversion to see if I am eligible to pay for more.
2. Tax by Stealth - Gordon Brown has introduced over 50 taxes (very quietly).
3. War monger Blair - he has sent troops to Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Afganistan and Iraq, spent Billions on War which nobody felt would benefit this country, yet let Mugabe get away with Murder. Yet while he sends the Troops away, he does not equip them properly.
4. Millions marched against the war, and even more marched against the hunting act - he ignores his voters and refuses to compromise.
5.The NHS - despite the fact that billions have been invested in the NHS, we now face redundancies and ward closures, which to be fair we did under the tories. So if we are facing redundacies and closures where has this money gone? Squandered the lot of it, on worthless image consultants, computers and yet more managers. What a waste of money - your money, my money!
6.Education - Instaed of raising the standards they have instead lowered them and then claimed that the state of the Education system is better because more people are passing. What a load of crap. he also makes students pay for theie education (which they never did under the Tories) now leaving students thousands in debt when they leave Uni. Well done Labour.
7.Scandels - Cash for Peerages, Cash for Passports, Questions for Cash, Mandelson, Two Jags, Livingstone, Ministers looking for gay sex on Clapham common, Tessa Jowell, it goes on and on. Again the Tories do it and then Labour take it off the scale.
8. Business. More Red Tape, more minimum wages. More people are going out of business since the global recession of the 80's.
9. Asylum and Immigration - I konw lets let in anyone, regardless of who they are, whether they have criminal records or not, whether they are NHS tourists and have diseases such as Hepititas, Aids etc..., jobs, housing. Lets not worry whether we have enough housing for them, or infrastructure and how much it is going to pay Mr and Mrs Taxpayer. Forget the 'lets travel to the nearsest country to claim asylum', lets get some organised crime syndicate to exploit us and get us to the U.K.
10. More stabbings, gun crime, re offenders released early to reoffend, lets not even put burglers and drug dealers inside, because they have had an oppressed child hood and deserve a hug. While we are at it, the drug addicts who are in prison - lets give them £2 or £3k because they have had a hard time doing cold turkey.
11.Multi Cultralism- I am not even going there.
12. British born terroists. Speaks for itself.
13.Human rights, lets give those who commit crimes as much rights as those who have been victims of crime.
14. The police. Spend millions on more officers, who get more and more paper work. ASBO's - don't work - these are now a status symbol. What a waste of resouces and money setting them up.
15.George Bush, well done Tony, keeping following him.
16.Big Brother.
17.Broken the family unit up, leaving kids with no respect for elders and each other. Education starts at home.
18. Sold Britian down the river to Europe.
19.Welfare no work.
20. Civil Servents earning thousands in pensions which are paid for by the public and now the public cannot afford private
pensions because they are paying for the civil servants.
21. Political Correctness.
Thats just a very short list. I could go on, but I start work in five minutes. The Labour Government has wrecked the U.K. Forget what the Tories did, The Labour Government has had over ten years to sort that out. Plenty of time.
Some people hate the Tories for certain things, but I guarentee this Governmet is far, far unpopular than any Tory government for what they have done to this country. What a shame. Well done Tony. Some people like Mike, 2plus3 and Pat R on this thread are just to blind and Labour drunk to notice.

Iron Stu - are you ill? Thatcher sold the Council houses, to allow those on low incomes to have some wealth. The real reason for there being no houses, is because Tony Blair has let in over 4 million Asylum Seekrs and working Immigrants (such as the 700 000 poles last year) and these 4 million people need somewhere to live. He should of thought about the consequences on the infrastructure before he did this. In fact if Thatcher had had her way in 1991 Saddam would be out of power, it was George Bush Senior who stated we must not finish the job. I for one am also a family man and under TB I am alot less well off. I would rather pay the Poll Tax then what I do now. Gordon Brown has introduced **** loads of new taxes so his government can waste more money on spin and crap, not to mention petrol and all the other **** I have to pay for. Some people are so thick.

Yes. It is all OK for you left wing sorts. The New Labour Experience has had 9 years since Tory power. I think the truth will out about the mess the economy is in say 2 years time. War Blairs ego trip. Health Service a joke. Poll tax is nothing to the amount you now pay in stealth tax to Gordon. I do not believe the answer is Cameron. He will be soft on Law and Order like Blair.
The choice is difficult. They are all there for their own pockets, none care about us.

Anybody who believes our economy is strong is falling for Brown's 'Smoke and mirrors' read the financial papers travel a bit and you'll find out it's nothing like he claims. If the economy was strong why would he need to dream up new taxes all the time,he can't even cost the Olympics correctly. When this lot finally go who do you think will have to pay the bill?.

It is not irreversible but will require huge political will and a lot of courage to set about undoing the damage.
I don't think that this can be done within the parliamentary system. Something else is required

Well I was only a kid before they started, so I don't know what it was like before, but I think they really have screwed us over! Then again, if we were to get the Tory's back, then we'd be saying the same thing in a few years time, they're all the same. I think it'd be a safer bet if we all just emigrated out of here!
Oh and I just read the above, did you know they tax sanitry towels and tampons, what sort of people do that?!

I wholeheartily agree!
Everything the Labour government, with our Tone at the helm, has completely trashed this country.
Within 9 years he has made us a laughing stock around the world.
Education, the military, hospitals, the old age pensioners, the transport system, immigration(grrrrr!), taxes, the police, the benefit system....everything this man has touched has been deliberately and systematically been turned to sh*t!.....
.....For what?
So he can tour the world and tell people how respectful we are of other races and religions!
Well screw that! I'm British and I want the British government to HELP, not hinder, the country in which I was brought up in.
The British government has an obligation to help it's own population FIRST.
Not second, or third, or behind the Somalian without a home!
FIRST, Tony blair. First sort out and help your own people first!
..Then, if possible, we help other needy countries...And I don't mean by inviting the bloody lot over here!

Ruined the country?...YES!!! Irreversible?....Not necessarily! But it will take a strong government, who will put 'British' interests first to do it! It will also take a lot longer to re-build than it has for this shambles to destroy!!!!

.Unfortunately YES.
They have eroded all personal freedoms.
They have encouraged immigration to suppress wages through the back door.
They have tried to destroy British culture with Multiculturalism against the majority will of the people.
The immigrants have more rights in law than the native British.
They have got the UK involved in an unjust and illegal war (in breach of the UN charter) that cannot be won.
How do we get back from all of this

most definitely, how blind you all are .the Tories had set this country up financially then this bunch of idiots come along and ruin it .if labour had set about revitalising the nhs and education which is what they are supposed to be about then we would be a real top notch country.instead they spent the first 5 years not believing they had won an election the next 5 on how to leave their mark in the history book and there last 5 is going on squabbling about who should be in charge . what i don,t understand is we went to war not long ago to stop the Germans invading, this lot have slung open the doors to the scum of the earth and said come on in thank god my grandfathers did nt live long enough to see this ruination of our country by these cowards
