okay, as a girl who has talked about this issue in depth and for hours with lots of people---here's my thoughts;
Groomed is always better than not groomed. The method hardly matters b/c it depends on your skin and level of hairyness etc. If you don't mind waxing, i.e the pain, the cost, having a stranger touch you in private spots and then ripping your hair out, etc. Then do it b/c it lasts a long time and yes men love it.
I for one am not about the pain so I use a girl electric shaver...I'm not talking about an "emjoy" (like an epilady that mechanically pulls hair from the root-some people like that too) I'm talking about remington for girls. and then I clean it up with a sharp 3 blade razor in a hot shower with plenty of shaving cream. If you don't mind using Nair- that's also good too--don't forget to sit down and not move for the duration of the hair removal and use warm water and a towel to wash it off.

Hahah thats a good question. Most guys like shaved, but my boyfriend which is a personal fitness trainer likes some hairy some trimmed some waxed. But, that part isn't really important, only most guys just wants a good chase of girls, lets just say, you're a wonderful girl who helps orphan kids and goes in school projects to help other people, and the guys are IN love with you but you're NOT that interested and just walk by or say Hi but nothing more. Oh, that turns the men's urge to chase you, win your heart. It doesnt depend on the 'hair'. I was hairy everywhere, I mean like arms, not much but I was still hairy and still my boyfriend loved me for no matter how I looked, he said that he likes me because I have a strong personsaitly and I never give up on anything or my family. Boys likes girl with good qualities, sure, they're little picky with looks but deep down they like you more than for that. So....it doesnt really matter if you shaved, waxed or are hairy. Thats my advice sweetie, to keep yourself uptaked and sweet and caring. God Bless You.

To be honest, I myself never placed importance on such things.
Obviously not too hairy would be the prefered type, but the completelly shaved seems too "fake" to be taken seriously. To me, guys who "request" women to keep it shaven are pedophiles, and a woman who shaves out of peer pressure doesn't have alot of self-confidence.
Also note that the concept of shaving is a "new" thing since the 90s, and I would even go so far as to suspect this fad/fashion to be influenced by the gonzo porn of the 90s up to today; it's as if women can't look like women; they have to have shaved pubes and look like teenagers...
But to each their own! I know of a man who's so tired of today's shaven bushes that he hunts down hairy women!
Myself, I never particularly cared. As long as the lady is NOT a "dodger", her physical attributes don't really matter!

my boyfriend likes nothing. he dont care how the hair gets removed as long as it isnt there. but I have found this out:
hair: less attractive
shaved: more attractive, not very painful
waxed: most attractive, very painful
