My daughter turns 8 on January 5 and she wants to do a Luau theme for her birthday. Since it's in January what are some good ideas I can use as far as decorations, games, dress, food and such since it will probably have to be inside (unless it's not really winter, AND WE DO LIVE IN TX-NEAR HOUSTON). Any ideas will be helpful!!!! Thank you all in advance:)

There's a great co. that selld lots of Hawaiian sytle themed party supply at a great price. It's called Oriental Trading Company. You can look them up because they have a website. I would suggest playing that one game where 2 people hold a stick and people try to go under it front first. (I can't think of the name of it.) You can also have a contest for best dressed and see who comes in looking the best. Another game would be best Hawaiian dancer.
Have nice Kool-Aid drinks in Hawaiian style cups. For the cake have a pineapple cake or a Angel Cake with pineapple topping. Have a fruit salad. Check out the foodnewtork.com for some recipes on the main course.

here is a fun game for kids that can be played with flowered leis.
you need a two liter container of pop and lots of flowered leis.
each child stands about five or six feet from the soda bottle and takes turns trowing their lei over the soda. when everyone is done they all get a glass of soda and they get to keep a lei to take home! for decorations you could string leis around the inside of your house. you could have a palm tree shaped cake, and the kids could wear clothes with hawian flowered prints. you could greet guests at the door and give them a lei to wear! hope you have a lot of fun!

We'll hula skirts, and swimsuit tops or flowered tank tops would be cool with all the lay accessories (flowers). Maybe if you have an indoor grill you can grill hamburgers, hotdogs, etc.
