There are 1000 MB in 1 GB So 512MB would be the same as about .5GB. The 2GB is much bigger.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

Have a look at the following conversions to explain you this.
GB = Giga Bytes
MB = Mega Bytes
KB = Kilo Bytes

1GB = 1000MB (to be precise 1024MB)
1MB = 1000KB (to be precise 1024KB)

From the above evaluation, its evident that 2GB is going to store more information that 512MB.

As far as your concerns about storing photos and videos, even a 512MB can store more photos than 2GB storage space since the factors on which the number of photos or videos can be stored, depends on:
1) Resolution of photos/videos (the higher, larger is their size)
2) Level of compression (files that are compressed occupy less space) etc.

I hope this information helps in proceeding from where you were caught up.

Definitely not...512 megabytes is about half of 1 Gigabyte. Knowing that you can figure that 512 megabytes is about 1/4 of 2 gigabytes.
Hope it helps.

No. 2GB would easily store more photos. Let me illustrate this using the apple nano and shuffle. A nano holds 2GB or roughly 1000 songs. A shuffle has 512 MB and usually holds 100 songs. I hope that this helps.

Ya you may continually get rid of Ram... yet no person ever do such issues. by making use of the type you have a Nvidia 210. there is no wish in gaming. except the video games are some years previous. i do no longer even think of Witcher a million, released in 2007 might artwork

Definitely not. A GB is basically 1000 MB (or 1024 MB depending on the situation).

So 512MB is only 25% of 2GB.

Go to "Tigerdirect" webb site , look under digital cameras, pick a camera to get more info, scroll down to near the end of the page and there is a chart that tells you how much each card would hold for each megapixal you shoot.

512 MB is like half a GB
... so it's 1/4 as much space
