Yes, a lady can definitely fall in love with a person who has a spinal cord injury...because when you love...you love a person's heart and soul...his personality...and his treatment...and his views about life...this is what you love....

When a lady finds a person with a pure heart and soul...and he has a great personality...and he treats her well...and she find that his thoughts, ideas, and dreams match hers...how can she not love him? How could something as a small physical injury affect her feelings for him?? Nothing stands in the way of true love...no matter how big it is, there is nothing bigger or greater than true love...

Dear Miss,
It has been said that "Love is blind". I believe that this is very true. I think you only ask this question because you feel insecure about your feelings with this man and what others may think.
Love is a gift from God that we can give ourselves and others. In God's likeness, it does not discriminate. If you truly have deep, passionate, feelings for this man, then love him with all your heart. He may very well be the best man you will ever know and love you in return like no other. Anyone who doubts your relationship is probably a pretty empty person who is only seeking looks, money, or any other thing thier mate can do for them. What is important is going into a relationship with the idea of what you can put into it, not get out of it. So feel sorry for anyone that doubts your feelings. One day, each of us shall age and most likely have serious health problems. Do we see loving elderly couples loving each other any less due to wrinkles, aches, pains, and debilitating illness. No, thier love bridges all of these things and they are likely much happier couples than young vain couples who "Got it all together".
If your love is true, your love with this man will stay strong and passionate your entire life while you watch other "model couples" come and go-often falling apart over money, vanity, illness, and so forth. Go forth knowing that you know love on a deeper basis than most willl ever know.

Love can come i all shapes and sizes, question is when you look at him do you see only a man in a chair or a man? Second if he was able bodied and lost function of his legs could you live with that? In short it all depends on you. I had a friend that was a paraplegic and he was always amazing me, he had more determination and will that most people that have use of their legs. I once saw him pick up a full sized picnic table and move it into the back yard, he defiantly made up for his disadvantage's in other ways.

Well, not a lady, but had to answer this... A very close friend of my family was taking care of Viet Nam vets, of course some were wheel chair bound, she fell in love and has been with him for 24 years.

Yes, Being a wheelchair has nothing to do with the fact the person is in a wheelchair. With todays technologies a person can still have kids, and orgasms as well when they are in a wheel chair. Don't judge a book by its cover. Get to know the person not the concept that he is in a wheelchair.

Sure. It would take a rare woman...and he'd probably need to be an exceptional man...but yeah...I believe it can happen. If couples can stay together after one of them suffers such an injury...I don't see why someone who already has the injury couldn't find love...

Love is a mysterious thing...it can occur in the most unlikely of situations...

As women we look to be loved and we expect to be loved in return. We can not help who we fall in love with. When we are with the right one we seem to know it. If you trully love someone handicaps shouldn't matter. I am friends with a someone that is wheelchair bound after a car accident and she found love with a wonderful man. Good luck and God bless
