Quite simply i am just looking for new ideas and combos for this old card.

i already play a pretty nasty Pestilence deck tht is agumented with Withering wisps and blanket of the night.

cursed lands for some extra damage and Kavereck the Merciless to make them take damage any time that they play any spell.

this is all casual play and we use cards form all expansions.

Any Ideas?

thanks for the suggestions. i do have a hecatomb in there. and a few pro black critters. and from time spiral i have found that the stuffy dool artifact creature is wonderful (it is indestructable)

the Fungasaur is a really good idea i will have to try that. he is currently in my Thillad/spike deck.

If you're not running monoblack, an old-school Fungusaur would dovetail well (e.g. every time it is damaged and does not die, it gets a +1/+1 counter; each incidence of using Pestilence is a separate occurrence, so 1 damage --> +1/+1; 1 damage --> +1/+1, and so on). Additionally, creatures with Pro:Black work as well, as you can burn the whole board with pestilence and have them as the sole survivors (which also keeps the pestilence from going away due to lack of creatures). Whirling dervish (which has pro:black) also works well with this, as any time it does damage to your opponent, it also gains a +1/+1 counter. Obsidian acolyte from Invasion would also work well, as it has Pro:Black on it's own, and it can bestow Pro:black until end of turn with a single white mana (and no tap!)

One other novelty that would fit in with your deck is a Mercadian Masques Thrashing Wumpus... it's a living Pestilence, with no tap to activate.

As an alternative to Fungusaur, try the new Sliver with the same ability. Or there's also Rite of Passage from Darksteel.

But that's just variations on a theme.

Try some solid, agressive regenerators. Like Twisted Abomination(Bonus of Swampcycling) or Mortivore, which get's bigger with all the creature's you'll be doing away with.

What about subbing Hecatomb for Pestilence? You have to sac 4 creatures when it comes into play but thats the only drawback. You use your Swamps to deal damage to a player or creature. Horobi, Death's Wail compliments Hecatomb well because it turns all your swamps into a one mana kill spell. Use Extraplanar Lens or Gauntlet of Might to double your mana. *sigh* I wish I could get my Psychatog deck done. I haven't played a non-Type 2 deck in ages.
