Maybe you could start by saying your reactions to a day without music and the implications of not having music.
- Possibly you missed the entertainment of music?
- That the day seemed longer without music in the background and it was harder to work without a background rhythm?
- Maybe you weren't as happy

Then look at what that made you realise about music and what you now understand about it.
- It's an important form of entertainment that brightens many people's days, most people enjoy it and a happy beat has an effect on a person's mindset
- Music helps people to relax and acts as a good release as they are easily absorbed by it and it takes their mind off other things
- The rhythm helps people to work and sets a beat to which they find it easier to get things done

Hope that helps!

A day without music is a day without light and sunshine. Music makes you happy, lifts your spirits so without it you may not feel as upbeat. You may feel irritated and uncomfortable, a bit at loose ends because you don't know what to do. Though we all like different kinds of music, we all speak the language of music - it is the universal and without it we lose a means of communication. A day without music is a day of silence, an unusual quiet with empty spaces.

Maybe you can build on those ideas a little. I hope it helps.

Music is in our lives for three basic purposes:
Entertainment
Spiritual engagement
A tool for keeping rhythm

Think about how the music engages you in film or television or the radio programs. It also helps fight boredom when doing things like cooking, cleaning, or driving.

"Music stirs the soul" - imagine church without a choir, or piano, or organ to engage our spirits in the message from the minister.

We use music in dance and exercise as a tool to help us keep rhythm with the moves.

I hope that helped.

One highlight was that you didn't have to listen to any commercials, they all have at least background music if no jingles.
