My deepest sympathy to you. My Grandfather committed suicide just before Christmas a few years back. I rarely discuss it with my family as they do not wish to see it for what it was. I cannot imagine the horror you feel as it was your own father.

But, to the question at hand. God judges the hearts of man. He alone decides. Things to consider, did your Dad have a right relationship prior to death? Was he mentally ill. Severe depressed? It is so hard to know what was going through a persons mind before they committed the final tragedy.

Please look to a church with grief counseling. Do not add guilt to your already overloaded plate. Remember God is loving and will make the right decision. Keep your faith and trust your God and he will be faithful to you and see you through this horrible time.

I will pray for you and your family.

Sorry for your loss. I have known a few people that have committed suicide and I have forgiven them all.

If you would like to know if your faith does; talk to a leader such as a pastor. But their stance may be no. I think religions have to say that as a way to prevent people from hurting themselves

Many of the questions you are looking for answers to probably can not be answered. Suicide is like that, it often leaves more pain behind then it ends.

Suicide is not punishable. Your dad can go to Heaven and suicide is no factor. I'm a saint and I'm holy, so I know what I'm talking about.
If you encounter any Christians who try to tell you otherwise, just turn around and walk away, don't argue. There are many Christians with funny ideas about these questions.

For those of us that believe in reincarnation suicide results in the person immediately incarnating to the next life. In the case of close relatives it's usually turns out to be someone close to you. So take a good look at any new babies in the family lately.

Depends on your faith.

In taoism, its forgiven but discouraged.

The answers you seek won't be found, so focus on building up the pieces your dad left behind. You should forgive him yourself of course and perhaps try to understand why he did it.

suicide is an unforgivable act in God's eyes
it is taking your own life on purpose and leaving your family behind wondering why and what could they have done
it was not your fault
Best wishes to you and sorry for your loss
