how often should you have your home treated for bugs/extermination?

The apartment complex I live in will have Terminix come treat the apartment any time it is requested, but I am not sure how often I should ask. They have come twice in the 3 months I've lived here, for roaches & silverfish...now I just have moths. But I don't want to wait until there is a problem again...I think these apartments are not very well insulated.

Any advice or suggestions about how often to get professional bug treatment would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions so far...I don't live in the "ghetto" and fortunately don't have to pay for treatment. I also haven't been home when the people from Terminix came, so I might just call them and ask for more info.

Talk to the Terminex guy and the apartment manager and see what they say. A lot depends on the environment, how prevalent bugs are and what the season is. There can be a lot of factors.

You can also call a rival pest control company and get a quote from them for comparison.

If they are only treating the apartments that call, you will always have bugs. Call the bug people and ask their advice, then you will be on their side and you will know for sure how often. The landlord does pay for this doesn't he?

i live in an apartment complex too and they come around every month to spray if you have a specific problem yours then once a month till gone

i think all you have to do is clean. unless you live in the ghetto and have cockroaches. if thats the problem you ******
