Ok Listen To My Sad Story. I am only 14 years old & am good with computers. So it was time for me to get a new pc. I thought why not build it. So I bought all the parts. I came home and putit all together. I hooked my newly built computer into the monitor and plug socket. WALA it worked. I jumped with happiness for this had been a goal. The next morning I awoke and went on my newly built computer. It powered on Again a shock of happiness went through me again. The the unpredictable happend my computer just shut off. I looked inside of it and everything looked great I looked at everthing and relised i had a fried CPU. My Parents were very nice about it and bought me a new cpu. Guess what when inserting the cpu in I bent 3 pins and broke 1. My parents were going to get me a new CPU AGain but I declined. I returned all the parts except the broken CPU's. But I don't want to give up. Do You think I should get together with a tech and try again with cheap parts (215 dollars total). Thanks

Hey it was a bad experience shouldn't stop you from trying. Besides if you acidently broke your CPU you can always replace it. Just remember the basics

1. Do not force the parts in. If you have trouble putting it in take it out and slowly try to position it again

2. Put the comptuer where you feel comfterable. Do not force yourself to bend over to a postion you do not want to. Make sure you have enough height and light so you can see things clearly.

Everyone has a bad day. Take mine the first time I trued to plug something in my motherboard caught on fire. Lucky it had a protector so my motherboard shut down ASAP as soon as the fire started. It was minor and so far I do not see anything wrong. There was a small burning smell but nothing bad. Yes the motherboard still works it only sparked for a second. It is an old PC with only a 230W so nothing serious that could of caused more damage.

It didnt stop me from opening another computer. Everyone has bad experience. Just elarn from your mistake and try again. You know what your doing so do not let something silly as accidently breaking the CPU to scare you off. Besides your parents are supportive so Im encoraging you also

I suggest you use an online guide (if nothing else, although a tech person would definitely help). If you buy from TigerDirect.com, they provide you with exact directions on how to build your computer when you order a barebones kit from them (that's where they sell you all the parts you'll need to build your computer and you just have to put it together). I just finished building my AMD 64. It's not really hard once you've had experience doing it (I've built over 65 computers (laptops and desktops)). Keep trying if you've got the money.

*I do offer computer building services, although depending on where you live, that may not be very helpful to you because I am based in California. I only charge 50$ to build the entire computer and I garuantee that everything will be put together to spec. If anything breaks, I buy and replace it.

When you are ready to buy a new system, go to www.stupidcheapcomputers.net. I buy all of my stuff from them, and everything is Vista ready.

Microsoft is about to release its latest operating system, Vista, in January. It’s going to make all of these “bargain” computers nothing but JUNK as soon as it’s released. The reason that you are seeing so many cheap systems on the market right now is because a lot of them CAN’T RUN Vista and the merchants are trying to dump them as hard and fast as they can before Vista shows up and everyone learns what a piece of crap they were sold for $500 (or whatever).

Anyway, I bought a complete, new system from stupidcheapcomputers.net with a warranty for LESS than it would cost me to build it myself or order a custom one from the manufacturer. You can use my frequent buyer code: ATX926. That will get an additional 10% discount at checkout.

I have NEVER had any problems with anything that they have sold me and their customer service is outstanding. Those guys blow my mind.

Good luck!

First of all I think your idea to get help is a good one. There are so many things to keep in mind when building a computer from the power to what may and may not be compatible. Here is the idea though. If you want to learn then keep working on it but if you want a computer that works right away get a new one. Maybe you can get one and then work on making one later on with parts.
Look here and see if there is a free cycle in your area. Find your country, area , state and town or county from there. This is a site where people can ask for or offer stuff. Get signed up and post a request for computer parts.

Now here is some sites to building computers but put in your own search as well.

Well I think you could buy a computer like Dell, they are so cheap and the most important thing is:

You'll save a lot of time and you can use the time to make more money!!!

TIME = MONEY (always remember!)

But if you just want the experience, then try it again and you will make it!!!
