Sometimes i get tired of the constant beat and i long for a more melodic tune, why doesn't anyone make music that isn't so driven by beat?

To quagi M, actually i have been listening to much older music, which has been a big factor in turning me off modern music. after hearing Wagner & JS Bach i can't listen to pop music anymore, though i used to enjoy it.

Try jazz.

PS: Classical helps me study. It seems to me that as you change/grow, your music interests change. I too don't really enjoy listening to pop/electronics anymore. Too primitive or something. BUT it can boost your mood sometimes.

There is so much music that has been written over the past centuries that if modern music does not appeal to you then check out some older music. While I grew up on rock and heavy metal, I grew to have a great appreciation for classical as I got older. Old country music - from the 1940's and 1950's is interesting too. Check out some of the other music out there, you may like it.

I get fed up of it especially when you go to a bar and there is a dj on who cranks the bass up and all you feel is the constant beat.(although the beat keeps a head on my pint) give me THE WHO or THE EAGLES any day

I only find it annoying when its coming from the neighbours. Its only the beat we can hear. I dont know whether to tell them to turn it down or turn it up so I can hear it properly.

All new bands are utter cack, they all sound the same. The Jam, now that was a proper band, as were The Smiths.

Of course it bothers me. Some bands just can't sing or play well enough so they put a bunch of rhythm in there to cover it up. However, there are some good bands out there.
