I remember being in school that they would make the class stay longer because one or two kids would get in trouble so they would make the whole class stay longer because just two kids got in trouble. Even when the rest of the class did nothing wrong. So in the long wrong IT makes you feel guilty for doing nothing wrong.
That is what I hated most about growing up in school They disciplined the wrong group of kids when they should of just held the two kids back and let the rest of the kids go out to recess or back to class from the computer lab or whatever. That is what I think is the reason why we feel guilty for no reason at all.

Hello: I used to feel guilty and sometimes I still do. I have several reasons as to why the guilt is still there. First I would say if you feel like this is a problem for you then talk to someone that you can trust. Keep a journal. Not a proper correct journal just something you can write in like for instance when a guilty thought comes up and write down the reasons why you are feeling guilty. If talking and writing doesn't help then maybe try meditation. I read that you are Catholic and yes in all seriousness that could have something to do with it. If you would like to talk or just have someone to listen please don't hesitate to email me.

Have you ever read the book, "Growing Up Catholic?" It emphasizes this very point. I, too, am Catholic. I also went to twelve years of Catholic school, so I even feel guilty about writing this to you. But if I chose not to write this to you, I'd feel guilty over that. As adults, we need to find humor in our guilt. I believe its so deeply instilled in us that humor may be the only constructive way to deal with it. Good Luck. And don't woory, nothing is your fault, It's really ALL MY FAULT.

Yes I do. I am not really sure where it's from.
Some times I feel guilty for feeling guilty when there is nothing to feel guilty about.
EDIT:hmmm I am catholic.

Guilt is the other side of anger. Like a coin. guilt one side, anger the other. They flip about. I find...if I am very angry about something....I soon feel very guilty....then back to anger...flip flop. I think that's a normal way of coping with unpleasant emotions. Not particularly GOOD, but normal.

i also feel abnormally guilty. and agreethat catcholciism is bad for that. my worst problem though is that I have OCD and that makes you feel guilty regardless of how you were raised, althogh my mother was crazy too.
