yes it is possible to get over depresison- as this is the number one mental health concern in the US and pretty much in the Western World, we could not employ so many psychiatric professoinals if there were no hope!
depression has various causes - theres biological * typically called the chemical imbalance*
- there is situational *your life sucks, you have earned hte right to be depressed*
- there are also people who think in depressive thought patterns and make themselves depressed without just cause
- there are also food allergies, and junk food excess
The easiest to cure is the food allergie and junk food problem, just change the diet. the second easiest to cure is the depressive thought pattern - with cognitive therapy. If the problem is just life events, then the depression ought to subside once the awful events do. IF it is biological, the person might require treatment all their life, unless some special intervention is had, such as electroshock therapy sometimes helps clear it up, or maybe alternative eastern medicine, such as acupuncture. but the medication you gte from walgreens for depression of the biological kind, is only alleviating your symptoms and not curing the disorder.
hope that helps :)

To "get over depression" as you put it is not something that happens over night. You don't just wake up one day and be over it. It is a chemical imbalance in the brain yes it may go dormant for a while but certain things and situations can make it rear its ugly head again. It can be managed with medication and counciling. If it is bi-polar it is a lot hard to get it under control because you are constantly changing. One minute you are up the next minute you are down. I was diagnoised with bi-polar at the age of 16 I was put on meds and the side effects were to great so I was taken off from it. I then was put on birth control to control it but after a while that stopped working also. I have hidden my bi-polar from my family and friends for years and finally just this past week made it known. A person with this disease needs treatment of some sort. You can't get through it on your own. It's too much and you need a support system to help you through the bad times and be there through the good also. Depression comes and goes and some people do seem to "get over it" for periods of time but I have yet to find someone who has it that doesn't have a spell again. Bi-polar is life. At least from what I know. It can be controled. By the way they are also finding out that its inherited also. Check your family background to help you realize its not only you and the family members who have it might come in handy for those really bad days. Good luck

I was almost in tears reading this :( Sweetie don't be ashamed at all to speak up, domestic abuse toward males is far more common than you think and many men feel its not 'manly' to speak up about it, let me tell you what you have just done in taking the first step to (even anonymously) talk about your problem is very manly, and very courageous. This girl dosent deserve you or anyone at all! She is a bully of course its not acceptable to hit a women if your a man but its equally unacceptable to hit a man if your the women in the relationship, physical violence or any kind of abuse DOES NOT belong in a loving relationship. Believe me she is NOT your only chance of happiness and love please you really need to believe that, are you afraid no one else will accept you because of your mental illness? I was like that for many years, people including my own parents even kinda said not many men would be able to handle my problems, and yes some weren't, but you know what I always believed that a real man would like me for me all of me and now I think ive found that person :) She is only making your condition worse, I don't have BPD myself but know people who do and I know its basically an emotional roller coaster for some people 24/7, what she is doing to you on top of this and if you stay with her will make you very sick in the end, you are FAR better believe me being on your own, you need to take time to get to know yourself again, become strong and realize you can do better than you ever knew without her, this isn't love sorry to have to say it, but love, real love and abuse simple don't go together.Remember also you can contact MensAid or a similar helpline im sure there is one in your area that deals with male domestic abuse victims, you have made a great first step here, and remember 100% chance you can meet someone else who will love you and understand and not abuse you, good luck :)

Is there a cure for clinical depression? I am sure there is treatment. I am sure there is a way to alleviate the symptoms. But I am not sure about a true cure.

You can get over it if you are determined enough and have help from friends and family. My Mum had menapausal depression in her 50's and she got through it

I think it is something you deal with all your life, since it is a chemical imbalance that never improves (at least according to my doctor)
