i was thinking why girls r so ashamed to be seen in just bra and pant when they flaunt themselves in bikinis which are just colorful bra and pant. some are even more exposing than bra and pant

Underwear is functional. It is the layer that gets stinky and sweaty.

Bikinis are designed to be seen, and are often thicker and more strategic in design.

That's a good question. I've always wondered that too. I assume they are more hesitant to expose their bra and panties because most of the time your underwear is tied to a feeling of intimacy while a bikini is tied to having a good time at the beach or something.

Good question! Guys are the same way! I have these old workout shorts I wear around the house, and have answered the door in them many times. Yet, if I am just wearing my boxer underwear, which, for all practical purposes covers exactly the same amount, I feel I have to run and find my bathrobe when somebody is at the door. Guess its just one of those things our society conditions us to.

I think it's all mental. It's socially accepted to wear a skimpy bikini but not to wear underwear in public. If everyone wore underwear out to dinner, those same girls would have no problem doing the same thing.

The inventor of the bra invented it to replace the corset. so the concept of the bra was to make you look how society want you to be .. so the idea is to show that u look like that not seeing what makes you look like that.. but the concept of swimwear is to keep you covered in a pool. but as you can tell these ideas both evolved.. but our parents were raised with old concepts drilling this in your head. but with concept on bras not being as publicized as swimwear, we just believe that it is different(bra/Bikini)

We are conditioned to believe it's socially unacceptable to walk around in our underwear in public. Example, you're in a bathing suit store trying on swimwear, you want to try another color so you walk out of the change room in the bathing suit you have on and get the other color off the rack. If you had gone to the change room, removed your clothing down to your underwear and then realized you forgot the bathing suit...what would you do? You would get dressed again and then come out to get one. Dumb huh, but that's the way it is.

Because girls are illogical. There are bikinis that look like lingerie and there are sets of lingerie that look like you could wear them out at the beach or poolside.

What are the hang ups? Who knows. If I knew what made girls tick then I would be the richest Dude on the planet.

I just stopped trying to figure girls out and enjoy my time with them instead. All we need to know is that girls mostly look very, very good in either bikinis or lingerie and if we get to see them in such clothing, then just count your lucky stars and be happy you do. =)

The Dude.

the fact that bra and panties are UNDERgarmets makes me people uncomfortable. there is a taboo about being seen in them, because unless you are going swimming there is no reason for you to show that much skin. you are right though, some bra and panties r more revealing then swimsuits. but since people are the way they are, theres nothing we can do to change there embarresment level. neat question, though : )

I can only think of one reason and It is kind of stupid I know!! but I guess it's just because it's socially unacceptable and it offends people. Its like why can we walk around in our bathing suits but if we go out in a bra and underwear we get ticketed for indecent exposure?

good question... i think cause maybe when theyr seen in their underwear its usually not on purpose, but i know some girls that arent ashamed and wear see-through tops and xtra low rise bottoms. plus when your swimming u actually have a reason to be wearing almost nothing. i guess some girls just dont like men staring at them.
