If you are really original, try turning it around. Convince people to cheat on their spouses. As an exercise, this might actually persuade people not to because most of the reasons you'll come up with will be facetious.

I wouldn't want to hear anyone "persuade" me on that, mainly because everyone knows not to, people just do it. I think you should pick a different topic. I did my persuasive speech in college on the Children's Miracle Network and how to help children and the children's hospitals. =)

Just because its not quite up my alley, as there is no way I would ever do that to my spouse, doesn't mean it won't make a good speech. Possible points: sexually transmitted diseases, divorce/drastic life changes when you are found out, possbility of it becoming public knowledge, depending upon the kind of affair (same sex, w/minor, whatever) could ruin your career.

its a difficult question to answer but some reasons could be: Feelings, stress, what goes around comes around, you would be alone if they left you, once a cheater always a cheater, being loyal to yourself, many negatives of cheating;consequences, not getting second chances, do the ends justify the means, stuff llike that... this web had somestuff idk if you could use it: http://www.truthaboutdeception.com/infidelity_and_cheating/public/infidelity_and_emotions.html
