He has proven time and again to be obtuse and incapable of understanding intricate international political winds. He has proven on many occasions to be caustic on the sensitivities of other Nations, only willing to negotiate if it serves his interest even at the expense of the American people. America is an important country and her people do not necessarily reflect the ideological path he has chosen. The next president will have many fences to mend.
