I have never seen anyone have their belly button pierced with a curved needle.

The piece of skin they are piercing is very flexible, and using a straight needle then putting in a curved barbell is not going to affect it in any way. Your skin will simply take the shape of the curved jewelry, and that is how it will heal. End of story.

The needle is pushed through your skin, and then pushed the rest of the way out with the jewelry, so the needle isn't even there for a full minute.

I have my belly button pierced 4 times.
Once on the top,
once on the bottom,
and one on either side.

They were all done with a straight needle, and I have never had a single problem with any of them.

I believe the needle is straight...although I couldn't really see them piercing my belly button as I was lying down.

just to warn you: make sure you have low rise jeans and skirts with elastic, sweatpants etc. your naval area will be very sore for awhile, and very sentitive to being touched. i won't even wear tight clothing the first week. also make sure that you can sleep on your back, being it really hurts when it's bumped while it's healing. lastly take a pain killer before hand, it really hurts a lot! i have had my ears pierced several times, but my belly button was probably the worst. it's fun to have though, so enjoy! :)

certain, adult men do get their bellybuttons pierced, and under no circumstances in simple terms gay ones. maximum of those people above me are incorrect, and they have closed minds. it would not matter if you're a guy or a lady, for any piercing. do not enable all people inform you that this is 'gay' or 'stupid', in case you want it performed, then move get it performed. It absolutely concerns what you imagine. i comprehend some adult men who've it performed, and they are not gay, and that i imagine it seems tremendous. in simple terms because there are extra ladies who get it performed than adult men would not advise you may't get it performed.

They use a curved needle. Think about it, the belly jewelry is either a hoop (curved) or a bar bell that is curved. So...you need a curved hole. A curved hole is made with a curved needle!

A good piercer will use a curved needle. Your friend is not lying to you.

no they don't. They pull the skin up pierce it and then put in the ring really fast.

At least that's the way mine was done.
