Ok, heres the deal.

I reformated my computer a while back and have been working off of an external wireless card for the past few monthes. Our wireless router died and I apparently never reinstalled my NIC card drivers that are within my tower. I have looked all throughout my system discs but I could have missed something. If anyone knows where I can download the drivers off of the internet or a different solution it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Generally drivers are located and or installed by 3 methods nowadays:

1. For most computers people use they are bought already put together and installed from the factory. In this case most retailers will have on a disc sent with your PC or their company's site the drivers for your PC listed.

2. Windows 2000/XP and up generally are smart enough to locate basic drivers for operation of many things that get inserted into outlets via USB/Firewire/or a PCI slot. This is the term plug and play, be aware not all devices will have full functionality without inserting recommended dealer drivers.

3. The maker of the part has specific drivers for your card. If you are using say a Linksys, Netgear, or other broadband card generally these companies will have drivers for the card on their site. Generally just googling "(card id name) (company name) NIC download" brings up a download screen. Most companies in the technology hardware have an entire section of their website generally for downloading drivers and updating firmware.

Well real quick what I would do is make sure it recogzines the card so 2 things:
1. Is it physically flashing and getting a signal when inserted?
2. Check that your pc recognizes it. On XP Start>Control Panel>Network Connections. See your card here? No that's the problem then. Yes click on it and see what it says.

Turn off computer and take the NIC out of the computer and put it back in. Windows should try to install it. If that doesnt work. Find out what kind of NIC it is and search for the drivers on the internet.

Go into the the device manager and UN-install the network adapter and re-boot the computer..The yellow ? shows that the driver is missing. Once the computer goes back on then it will recognize the new hardware found and install it for you.
