Was the Cold War physical? I don't exactly understand what it was about. Details please.

Just an escalating arms race between the US and the USSR with other lesser countries often caught in the crossfire. There were skirmishes between these lesser countries but no actual "war" took place. It was a big threat, that the US and USSR would begin a nuclear war. Thankfully that never occured

the cold war was between the "west" (USA, G. Britain, NATO) and the Soviet bloc nations (Warsaw Pact) that occured from the end of WW 2 and the late 1980's. It was called "cold" because the major powers never engaged each other (a "hot" war). The Soviets and Americans fought by proxy for the most part (US in Vietnam{supported by the soviets} and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan [supported by the US] are the only examples I can think of that one of the major players were actually involved). Basically the "war" was trying to stop communist expansion (US) or western imperialism (soviet).

The coldest war i can think of was Korea!! That was one cold place and a lot of people lost limbs because of frost bite.

No "war" as in fighting, but more like war of words and threats!!!

Basically, and that is all we have space for here, it was about the possibility of a physical war.
