A person authorized to act for another; an agent or substitute.

The authority to act for another.

The written authorization to act in place of another.

I think you mean proxy (no t). It is a person that is authorized to act on behalf of another. Example: My husband is my health proxy, If I am too sick or injured, he has my authorization to make decisions for me. Such as keep me on machines or not.
