The most common arguments I have seen against evolution
(1) the chances of DNA, cells and life forms configuring, mutating or evolving to the current state of creation, without a planned design, is practically impossible, especially given the complexity of the human being.
(2) the intricate interconnected balance among various life forms could not develop linearly but is consistent with a holistic order
(3) even if there were evolution, there had to be some starting point for life to evolve. So in a linear system, there still has to be a starting point of creation. If there is no starting point, there still has to be some way to explain how the universe exists, which evolution does not explain.
(4) Note: The best viewpoint I have found is there is both creation and evolution, which occurs as part of the natural order and plan.
The previous Pope John Paul mentioned there was room for both, that the two did not have to be contrary viewpoints. I believe a model that accommodates both creation and evolution is closer to universal truth because it can explain both viewpoints; while neither viewpoint alone can explain the other.

Creation vs. Evolution - A Question of Origins
The creation vs. evolution debate is a question of origins. How did we get here? Were we created or did we evolve randomly? Are we the product of purposeful intelligence or are we merely the end result of countless cosmic accidents? What does the evidence say?

If you are doing a persuasive essay, you will need to persuade the audience to agree with ONE topic. You can pick either creation or evolution. Compare and contrast the two topics, but you will need a stronger argument for one of them to convince the reader.
