Hello,

Excellent customer service, almost shines out these days because its so rare. Most large companies pay lip service to the notion of good customer service, when in reality their customer service is either medioca at best & incompetant or dreadful at worst.

**That is if the CS dept even answers the phone at all of course. Some companies now hide behined email systems alone and dont want to even talk with human beings any more?

In my experience excellent customer serrvice is when the call is answered by a real human being, within a short period of time (NOT on hold for 20mins), the call is answered by someone I can understand in my own language.

That they deal with me respectfully and are friendly yet remain professional at all times, that the agent really is intelligent and you sense they are trying to help you and that you can actually trust them to do what they say they will do for you (on your behalf).

That the CS agent talks to me as a human being, NOT as a corporate pre-programmed robot thats not allowed to go off script. That the CS agent doesnt try and flogg me a product or service I clearly dont want and have no intention of buying.

**When the entire phone communication or face to face interaction with the CS person is a pleasure not a totally stressful pain in my day.

**As I said before if you received good quality or excellent CS you will know about it because it stands head & shoulders above the rest. Enough said!!

As part of the Hospitality Industry, excellent customer service...total guest satisfaction? The Truth is that there is no such a thing! There is always something wrong! The morning call may be delayed, one face cloth short...

The strive to achieve total guest satisfaction is the craving from the staff to make their guest feel special, let their guest feels at home and comfortable.

I think it is rather tough to define Excellent Customer Service as it is service related... what I can say is that the staff must enjoy what they do, they must have this craving for putting a smile on their guests' faces. To achieve Excellent Customer Service you need to have Excellent Staff Satisfaction first! Becuase how can one make you feel sepcial or happy if they are not feeling the same way?

Think about it, i hope this make sense to you.

Show the customer that you care, listening and responding in the appropriate manner. Also if you can go the extra mile to help someone, with out them feeling like you are putting them out. Basically showing that you take pride in a job well done.

It is one of those rah-rah-company slogans that they like to off load to their poor employees to get them to be bubbly-and annoying.

As a consumer, please spare me the false enthusiasm of the clueless new person and give me the curt direct to the point oldest employee in that crowd who can troubleshoot my problem without the fanfare.
