At all the high schools I'm familiar with Spanish I and French I are both beginning levels. That means you don't need to know anything about either language to enroll in level I.

Most colleges will require at least 2 years of Foreign Language for admission. (Maybe 3, sometimes 4) And once you get to college you will probably have to achieve at least level 2, probably 3 to obtain your degree.

The only reason I can think of that your little sister might be at a disadvantage to take Spanish I is that you won't be able to help her with it. Good luck!

If she has no Spanish speaking skills, or very few, she will start off at the beginner level/introductory course.

Depends on the high-school. Most would have different levels.
