I want to build a car that will do 200mph and still be able to drive it on a regular basis. Not a daily driver, but an every now and then sports car.
There are two ways I see going through this process start from scratch or just add parts to an already assembled car. I already know weight, hp and aero dynamics plays the largest roll. I also know that I want a 6 speed AWD transmission.

What kind of car should I start with?
OR
What kind of frame should I use?

What kind of engine should I use?
Turbo or Supercharged, which is better?
What type of AWD, 6-speed transmission would work best?
Anything else helpful?

Any real input would be helpful, especially if you actually know what you’re talking about and not just full of B.S.

By cheap, I mean not a Porsche or Ferrari...those answers relating to the word cheap and not possible are what I mean by B.S. Its already been done, I just need advice. Thanks...

i would start by purchasing a wrecked super-bike and probably wind up with something in between a pulse and a reliant scimitar i would also scrounge aircraft scrapyards for quality tubular components that are light weight for structural members and frames as well as hydraulic needs

Okay awd is not neccesary I run a 90 mustang in the Silver State classic in Nevada. I am currently also shooting for the 200 mark.
even the six speed isnt totally neccesary. but if you have the cash it will help. I am just 24 miles an hour shy. I say the best bet is a twin turbo set up over the supercharger. Turbo's dont rob anypower and now a days turbo lag isnt an issue. Make sure you have a great suspension and one hell of a brake set up. if you want further details I will get specific. gmkiller213@yahoo.com

already built- Ariel Atom, it costs 41,000 and will beat most Ferraris. If you got in a wreck there would be nothing left, its an open-wheel, open-cockpit design.

Do it Yourself- a Corvette can go 190+, so with a Supercharger will push 200 MPH. A supercharger is better because it is a cold air intake, and so is more effective and dosent harm emissions as much. The Corvette is also a usable daily driver.
