I don't know how this happened but my prescription last year was OS -4.00 -1.00 090 OD -4.00 -0.75 115, and the shop put in -5.00 lenses in my glasses. Now my prescription from the eye doctor is OS -5.25 -1.00 090 OD -5.00 -0.75 115.

There's no evidence to support the idea that the wrong prescription will physically damage your eyes.

If your eyesight has gotten progressively worse (as I've read in other questions you've posted) as you aged, chances are that's all it is. It sucks that your prescription was wrong, so next time be extra careful if you notice things don't feel right.

You might want to look into Lasik (and keep a stylish pair of non-prescription glasses for when you're feeling sassy).

Yes, the lens could have damaged your eyes. Never take glasses that don't feel comfortable the first time your put them on, no matter what the person behind the counter says. There is no such thing as getting use to them.
