The Mission of the Department of Defense is always to Defend the USA.
That is also the Major Mission of the President.
Reagan, Bush & Bush did their jobs.
Carter was gutless, and Clinton didn't care because he was too busy just having fun.

Are you looking at civilian employees,military employees all employees?
The budget-I'd like to have 1/10 of it and so would you!
The mission is primarily the defense of this nation ,its interests and to aid our allies.
Don't know 5 tasts.
