I have started seeing large snails on and around my stove, the kitchen. Are there any suggestions how to get rid of them without interferring with food preparation around the stove?

There's dampness. The stove should be moved and the floor repaired, it might be ready to crash through anyway if it's that wet.

Sounds like they are coming in through a hole in your floor somewhere. Or under the door to the kitchen somehow. What you do is place a plate or shallow bowl with beer in it overnight on the floor and on the stove(when not in use), the snails are attracted to the beer and when they get into it they die.

you need to use beer or purchase slug pellets which I do as I even have one among those good variety of in my backyard. the only factor with pellets is you're able to desire to bypass around identifying on up the lifeless snails so as that birds do not consume them and die from ingesting poisoned slugs and snails. i could do as robert h says and sprinkle some salt around the decrease back door to quit em coming in.

Snails hate: toothpaste, chalk, sliced cucumbers, and they bubble up and die when you sprinkle salt on them. Maybe you can put some small containers or tubing (where snails LOVE to hang out) and fill some of them with salt!

Send them to ting-tang, another person posting a question. He wants to eat slugs, maybe he'll eat snails too.
