my isp is verizon....if i buy a lynksis wireless router do i have to call verizon and notify them for it to work or do i just set it up and it works right away....i really need to know thanx

Nope, just use it. But set it up with the wireless security feature, using a password. You don't want the whole neighborhood looking at your computer files. Using a router does not violate your deal with Verizon.

Just set it up correctly and it would automatically start working. Notifying Verizon would just wasting time because all they are going to say is just set it up. Also make sure your router is firewalled to keep your computer safe. Trust me, you don't want people looking at your files nor data. But just make sure you have that compatibility your router.

Nope. It will work right out of the box. You are just splitting the internet cable going to your house up into many cables. Verizon is still sending you the same amount of bandwith, it is just being divided up at your end through the new router.
