Oh YES. Tell. Immediately. That's not something that should be kept a secret. The only transgendered person I ever knew (best dang hairdresser in Minneapolis, by the way) was very upfront about her operation, and all it entailed.

If it was my friend then of course I would tell him, especially if i thought it would make a difference to him. What if he somehow found out that you knew but didn't tell him. That could be a friendship wasted.
