Sell a bunch of stuff, be profitable or give the appearance that you're gonna be soon, do a lot of press releases and advertising so everyone knows about you, strike relationships with the financial analysts on Wall Street and get one of them to underwrite your IPO. This usually means that one or more of the VCs who invest money for rich people will have invested in your firm.
