Here's a little dilemma: usually, I get my girlfriend a nice Christmas present. Last year, I got her the Victoria's Secret satin bathrobe; another year I took her to a bed & breakfast in Vermont, etc. The question is, what is something nice and romantic to do this year? Here's the catch: I am a little short on money this year. Well, not exactly, but I'm going to propose in January. I'm saving up my money (and some romantic ideas) for the proposal, and I've run out of ideas for Christmas! Thoughts? Thanks!

I can't propose on Christmas because I'm getting the ring custom made; it won't be ready by then. Our anniversary is Januray 20th, so I'm going to propose then.

Also, part of the problem is that we do a lot of romantic things all the time (okay, I guess that's not a bad thing!) but then things like the mini movie theater, etc., are things that we'd do any time so it's not really special for Christmas...

You could get her flowers, some bath or body spray from Victorias Secret, maybe some Pjs or lingerie, and a candle. You could get her a photo album with your favorite pictures of you and her together.

a CD of favorite love songs (did this for my tenth anniversary and wrapped in aluminum foil since it was the tin year, husband keeps it in the truck)

why not take the two of you to a on a nice day trip and find a nice hotel (not luxurious) and buy some great tasting massage oils and massage each other by candle light and soak in a hot jacuzzi. for the price it will be cheap, an entire fun filled day together and a fun filled evening!
can't ask for any more than that!

How about a very special evening together. Get her favorite movie and set up a little mini movie theater. Popcorn, her favorite candy, hot chocolate, ect. The gift does not have to cost a lot. If you're ready to start your life with her it is not about the cost of the present. Its about the thought that went into it, showing her how well you know her.
