Fresh water fish can be warm or cool watered. If you are wanting to put warm freshwater fish in cool freshwater they will get sick quicker. If you are wanting to put freshwater fish in sea water some will live long, some live short and others die in days. If you are wanting to put saltwater fish in freshwater some can live years, others can live months and some die in days. your question doesn't really make sense but hope i helped.

Warm water fish sometimes do live in freshwater. I certainly wouldn't advise putting a salt water fish in fresh water, or a warm water fish in cold water though, if that is what you meant.

That is certainly possible. You should not mix freshwater and tropical fish. One type will get sick. Tropical fish are more complicated and need a thermometer in there so you can monitor the temperature. Unless you want to go through all the labor with tropicals don't bother.

Keeping tropical fish in a coldwater tank will lower the fishes metabolism, this will make them prone to more illnesses as they become less active.
Coldwater fish should idealy be kept in cold water too as it will raise their metabolism, shortening their lifespan.
