Forrest Gump offers enough for both genders. Guys will enjoy the boot camp and war scenes while gals will like the relationship between Forrest and Jenny.

It is hard to pigeon hole Forrest Gump. It covers a large time span like an epic. It works as a social/political commentary, albeit neutral. There's the love story between Forrest and the perpetually messed up and tragic Jenny. It boasts some of the most realistic war sequences. And the relationship between Lieutenant Dan and Forrest qualifies it as a buddy movie too.

However, there's no denying that Forrest Gump is an emotionally charged movie and men who would rather not acknowledge their feelings will tend to dismiss it as a overly sentimental chick flick.

I like the movie, I think it is quality and shows you how pretty much anyone can do pretty much anything. The whole movie except small edits are based on a true story and so weren't purposely created to be a chick flick, romance may have been added to the movie end of it though, although I don't think there is a lot in the movie.

If your Dad thinks Forest Gump is a chick flick, then He thinks it is a chick flick, so be it. What do YOU think? I think it is a great movie.

not at all. i think its a great story and it makes alot of great historical references from the 20th century.

Its one of the best movies made in my opinion and yes, I'm a chick but I don't think that means anything.

I found it rather disgusting. His mother helps him out by acting like a whore. His girlfriend is a crack addict who dies of AIDS. As a chick flick, the messages this film has about relationships are very negative. I wouldn't see it with a girlfriend, I tell you what.

I thought that was one of the silliest movies ever produced and the person that thought that one up should be spanked by his mother.
