family is of german origin and that they are not really british, when that statement is untrue, they can trace their ancestry back hundreds of years with scotish, english, welsh, and irish blood, how many of you out there can do that, people from britain ,usa and all other english speaking countries are lucky if they can go back more than a couple of generations and regard themselves as a native of that country,so accept the fact that the royals are as british as fish and chips nothing more and nothing less, god save the queen.

I agree with you Eurpopean here and bored to death of people going on about royal families of Euope. Same old question why this and why that. Could it be that deep down they love to have a royal family in the USA? they love all this peerage and knighthood stuff. And asking silly questions like how i get to be a lord or an Duke etc. If they that stupid to buy this rubbish then let them waste their money.

Some find it impossible to trace family roots back into the 19th Century let alone the 5th Century like the Royal family. Problem with tracing roots in America is, plenty of immigrants who came over 100 years ago, had their names changed by the immigrant officer who only spoke a working class American English and understood no other languages. So to write down a name, the immigration officer jotted down what the name sounded like. Or he wrote down a color. Or he wrote down a trade.

And if they did have German blood and little to no British blood, then it would be like saying, that a white, black, Hispanic, or Asian wasn't a real American. So regardless I view them as British.

Whatever their ancestry they were bloodsucking tyrants who enslaved the British population for thousands of years and it is incredible that people actually think that they represent anything which is halfway decent. They don't. Whether they are German, Irish, Scottish, Nordic or English they are something that no one who understands and studies history could do anything but despise. God save the Queen indeed - because no one or nothing else will. I guess they would be as welcome in America as Hilter or Mussolini.
