I'm an artist and many times when people see my drawings, the ask me to draw the same thing for them again.I don't really believe in copy them on copy machines because you don't have the same effect.Usually they don't really notice the differences in their drawing from the oringinal but I can.Do you think there is any way to duplicate your drawing exactly?(I do black and white drawings from pencil.)

Well, the japanese idea about art is that you are not truly an artist unless you can reproduce exactly what you have done before, that is the measure of control and talent. I find that it is boring to repeat the same piece, the inspiration and enthusiasm are only genuine the first time around.

It can be done, but it really isn't the same as the first, I know what you mean when you say it won't have the same effect if you copy it. I really don't think that it would be a good idea to do the same drawing again, maybe you could tell them that you can draw them something else, give them suggestions on what you are willing to draw for them,
GOOD LUCK!

it's impossible. you are an artist and show emotion in your work no matter what, wether it's your line weight or it's your gradients, or even the contrast, you show a little but different in every picture because it's impossible to feel EXACTLY the same twice. take advantage of it, though. i've drawn like 5 copies of the same picture, and they all come out a little differently. it's useful because you might like the 3rd better than the 1st or second. then, give the one you like less to the person who asked for it. lol.

Not exactly.

But if you get a clear piece of that plastic stuff they use for overhead projectors, you can make a grid. Lay it over the original. Have a grid the same size (or in proportions) sketched lightly onto your new piece of paper, and use the grid to try to make a duplicate as exact as possible.

It still won't be perfect, but it might be darned close.

No, since I don't beleive in tracing. A good artist could get close to the same, but not exact. If you are planning on tracing, I would use a powerful desklamp and a peice of plastic that is transparent (for obvious reasons).

Unless you want to trace or make a photocopy or your drawing, they always say that no two peas in a pod are exactly alike.

If you want to have the same effect , scan the work , then print it out with a good coulor printer ... it will be too close to the original one .. almost the same .

i tell people i can draw it similarly, but it will not be exact. And i tell them that is what makes it unique. Mine are always different.
