No, youtube is ad-supported, you never have to pay (Shareware is try before you buy). And youtube converts all videos uploaded to a safe format, so it can't give you viruses.

1, Some of the videos on the website can be shared but videos that are already copyrighted cannot be shared without permission, the contents of the website other than the videos themselves are copyrighted. No videos will be called Shareware as Shareware refers to a piece of Software.
2, It is a safe site, it has worked for a while with MySpace, and now both MySpace and YouTube have been bought by Google. Do you think you can get a virus from Google?

Youtube is most likely not shareware and any wesite can give you a virus but it is pretty safe. It is cool so go on.

No, you cannot get a virus by watching their videos.
