It's good to go with something related to what he likes. If he's into sports, then something that relates to it. If you looks up to one of the players, then something that has to do with the player (i.e, poster, toy of ____, etc.).
Quality time at a amusement park, or something where you can both interact (not movies) is good too if your able to. Time spent together is more important and developmental than just gifts alone...of course both is the best!

i dont know if he likes games but you could get him a gameboy advance their only $80 with a cople of game maybe he will injoy that. Or if he still belives in santa ask him to write a list for santa and put in in a enalope put it in your mailbox. whan hes not looking take it cout of your mailbox and look at it he should give you some smiple ideas. thw only thing i want for x-mas is a bird I hopw

tickets to his favorite games, new stuff for the sports he plays(new soccer ball...), some gamestation and sports games with them, picnic with his fiends, movies or a big fat hug and kiss with lots of good and expensive candy!
