7 students got an A in history, and 4 of those got an A in both, so 3 got an A in history but not math.

13 got an A in math, and 4 of those got an A in both, so 9 got an A in math but not history.

The total number of students who got As are the 3 in history only + the 9 in math only + the 4 in both = 16 total.

There are 30 students in the class, so 30 - 16 = 14 didn't get As in either one.

If four received an A in both courses, then 7-4=3 received an A only in history, and 13-4=9 received an A only in math.

Thus, 4 received an A in both, 3 received and A in history, and 9 received an A in math. Totalling 16 people who got A's and 14 who didn't.

4 received an A in both courses
7 received an A in history, of whom 4 received an A in math also, and 3 in only history
13 received an A in math, of whom 4 received an A in history also, and 9 only in math

So, of 30 students, 4 received an A in both, 3 only in history, and 9 only in math. That leaves 30-4-3-9=14 students who didn't receive an A in either course.

Hi. Start by taking 4 students (s) with both 'A' away, leaving 26. Obviously you take 's' from the 7 (leaving 3) and 13 (leaving 9). So 12 got just 1 A. 26 minus 12 =

Asking it twice will not help. Read the answer to your OTHER identical question first, you already have plenty of right answers there.
