Yes i have had guinea pigs when i was younger, and i'm not sure of their cause of death, but i think it was just old age. They all lived to be about 5 or 6. But since i've worked at a vet clinic i have seen guinea pigs who have died of old age, URI, vitamin C deficiency. Some even had their teeth grow TOO long, and they could no longer eat, and with guinea pigs, when they can't eat it is very serious, and can cause death.

my guine pig got cancer and she was getting lumps everywhere...at some point it took over all her organs, she couldnt eat, drink, or even breath, she was literally chocking and we had to put her to sleep...guine pigs r fragile animals, get sick often and the littlest diseases can turn into dramatic ones and kill them
