When the moon is waxing, how does the position of the Moon in the sky change from one night to the next? (Does it get farther from or closer to the Sun or does it stay in the same position with respect to the Sun?

I know for a fact that it does not stay in the same position, so if anyone tells me that, you need to get shot.

The waxing crecent moon is always in the west, just after sunset.

Each evening, if you look after sunset, you will see it higher in the sky, and a bigger crecent. After a week, it is high in the sky in the evening, and is a half-moon (first quarter moon). The next week, it is more and more to the east each evening, and it is a waxing gibbous moon. Finally, two weeks after the new moon, it rises in the east as a full moon sometime around sunset.

Hi. As the Moon travels in it's orbit more and more of it's surface gets lit by the Sun in the first week after new moon. This is called 'waxing' because it seems to built up like a candle being dipped (or waxed). After full it becomes waning.

A waxing moon is one that's getting farther from the Sun. (That's just another way of saying that the phase of the moon is increasing, or that the Moon is between new and full phases.)

It relies upon on how some distance or close you're to the equator or pole. The nearer you're to the pole, the decrease the moon could glide above the horizon. The nearer you're to the equator, the better the moon could glide. And a crescent ranges in distinctive tiers. perchance the portion of the month could be extra handy for the reason that in in basic terms one million day, it completes 12 tiers of it particularly is section cycle or 23 moon areas around the historic past of stars. mutually as the section would not look plenty distinctive after one million day. one million time without work could make the respond be off via approximately an hour, for the reason that one million trip of it particularly is 29.5 day orbit seems comparable to one million/29.5 of a time without work the respond, or extraordinarily much an hour or a pair of million moon area. And all that with regards to the moon's visual charm and it particularly is obvious top in the sky would not even contain it particularly is obvious postition due on your variety.
