Imagine you meet an Alien?

what about our earth would you definitely want to tell it and what you would never want to tell?

I would tell the alien that we need help, our planet needs help bad. I would tell him that we are losing our species, our fish and animals are dying, or living in terribly hard situations where they are suffering...

I would try to describe the wars between us so that they would understand...

But i would also tell them that we are a well meaning people who have lots of love, too.

We are just all trying to do the best that we can, but we need more answers.

So to avoid some misconceptions... If you meet an alien it mean the alien is already there... It also means he knows or has the source to know about the earth... it also means you better paint an alien only in your imagination. Iwould definitely make a picture of the earth to him and let him understand the rest for himself.
