How are you supposed to catch a fish in legend of zelda twilight princess wii?

i've been stuck in the game trying to catch a fish to feed sera's cat.. idk how to do it cause in the previous zelda games it used to tell you how and on this it pretty much leaves you alone...so if you guys know how to catch a fish, tell me please, thanx a lot

It's actually pretty easy once you get used to it. If your at the first level, you stand at the dock next to the cat and take out your fishing rod. If you have honey as bait, that would make things alot easier. Then, you take the remote and throw it like you normally would. Wait until all of the colors on the bob are underwater, the pull the remote up. Then with the nun-chuck in hand, move the nun-chunk in a circle as if you would with a fishing reel really fast. This should result in a fish.
P.S. if you are having trouble finding the bait, go to the top of the mayors house, call an eagle, then send it to the beehive above one of the villagers houses. This should knock it down and break it apart, leaving honey. From there, run up the hive and use the empty bottle to scoop it up.

if your just starting then all you have to do is set the rod to the b button and hold it down, then flick your wrist to cast the line out. When the bobber sinks a lot pull up on the wii-mote to hook the fish, then just keep pulling up on the wii-mote to land the fish, it will then ask if you want to keep the fish, say yes by pushing the a button and the fish should fall right in front of you and the cat will take it and run away with it. good luck.

well if you still need a fishing rod you have to go to the tall rock thats the farthest away from the rock that the man is on, pick the weed on that rock blow on it and the hawk will come, make it fly to the monkey on the little rock in the middle of the pond the hawk will pick up the cradle in the monkeys hands and give it to you ,you have to take it to the pregnat lady by the pond she will tell you to come to her house go in and she will give you the fishing rod then go to the dock were the cat is catch a fish and release it the cat will pick it up and take it home making the drunk wierd woman that wont sell you anything happy

I was stuck for like an hour! You go over to the dock by the cat and take out your fishing rod. Throw it out into the water and wait for the bobber to submerge itself and then pull the wiimote back really fast and Fish On!! should appear on the screen. Hold the wiimote back and it will reel itself in. you need to catch two fish and then the cat will take one and go back to the house and she will give you a bottle. with milk in it. Then you can go get the bee larva which is really not that important.

Yeah I can catch a fish but they escape.
I just stand on the pier next to the cat, there is alot of fish there

I try and move the wiimote up but they still get away.
