i respect the books much better than the films, yet I do nevertheless earnings from the films. i don't think of you would finally end up hating the films after interpreting the books, there is only a lot less component contained in the films. They of direction dramatize issues contained in the films extra, purely take issues from the e book and exaggerate them a touch, yet they are quite nevertheless a similar and that i don't think of you would hate the films or the books in case you believe you studied and browse all of them. I especially recommend the books be study, yet i imagine you'd be ok by interpreting the Goblet of fireplace with out having surely study the first 3.

I agree that it depends on your interests. There have been a few good adaptations (Stephen King's "The Stand" and "Desperation" and Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" come to mind). IMO, "The Da Vinci Code" was an awesome book, but the movie (while not bad) wasn't half as impressive. "The Hellbound Heart" by Clive Barker (became "Hellraiser" as a movie) and "Eaters of the Dead" by Michael Crichton (became "The 13th Warrior" as a movie) actually improved in the transition. Dean Koontz's "Watchers" and F. Paul Wilson's "Midnight Mass" were real let-downs as movies ("butchered" is the word I use to describe the last two book-to-film adaptations).

Pride and Prejudice
Little Women
Jane Eyre
Lion, Witch and Wardrobe (all 7 books)... I know, they haven't all been made into movies, but they're still great!
