my friend is scared to deal with the fact that he is not happy with his marriage and that he might be in love with someone else. what should i recommend?

Just recommend he see a counselor to help him out, if that's what he wants to do then that is what he will do. But don't push him, just suggest it.

He needs to talk to someone, whether its you or a professional, like a Pastor, family member, etc. You can't be afraid to deal with emotions; because eventually they will deal with you.....mentally.
