1) element = a simple chemical substance such as carbon or oxygen that consists of atoms of only one kind

2) compound = a substance containing atoms from two or more elements

3) mixture = a combination of substances that are put together but do not mix with each other

I dont know I did this last year in science but I think an element is a single thing a compound is two elements and a mixture is 2 elements mixed together

Elements are substances composed of a single type of atom. For instance, chlorine is an element and so is diatomic chlorine which is the form it is found in.

Compounds are molecules that are composed of more than one element (type of atom). For instance, carbon dioxide is a compound because it has both carbon and oxygen atoms.

A mixture is simply a combination of compounds.

I'm pretty sure that's how it goes.

elements are single components that make up all things material.

Compounds are elements that go through a chemical change forming a new reality of its self..

Mixture is simply a mixture of elements, still able to seperate, like oil and water. no chemical change has taken place.

Element= contains only one (1) kind of atom.

Compound= contains two (2) or more kinds of atoms linked by chemical, i.e. elecrovalent or covalent bonds.

Mixture= contains two (2) or more kinds of atoms, not linked by chemical bonds.

An element can be differentiated by taking its spectrum, which will be characteristic for each kind of element. A mixture can be separated into its component constituents by physical means, things like centrifuging, etc. A compound requires a chemical reaction in order to separate it, such as electrolysis, acid-base reactions, etc.

Elements are pure substances made of one type of atom

Compounds are two or more elements that have chemically combined. They take on new properties.

Mixtures can still be separated. Think salt water or salad. They don't take on new properties

An element is a substance made of one type of molecule, e.g. carbon or hydrogen.
A compound is a single substance made of multiple elements , e.g. water (Hydrogen and Oxygen) .
A mixture is a combination of substances which does not produce a new substance, e.g. saline (salt and water) which just remains salt and water even though they are mixed together
