Mumbai people and Sachin fans pardon me. I am a keen supporter of the Indian team since my childhood in 1980's. I liked him as a batsman in his early days as well. But what disappoints me is his approach to the game. He was more consistant in the past but he is always unpredictable (ever, even in his peak time), its true that I am concerned about 'he' because he is very important. Even I would dare to say that he is a natural player 'who understand the game very poor - he always depend upon his flow rather than the situations, upto his potential. For me the captaincy of Saurav Ganguly was the time I had immence hope in the team (though I never liked his batting style, as an international player he has too much 'weakness' as you know). NOW, Sachin is a burden along with other big names like Shewag, Kaif etc.. as a result of the comfort of being in the Indian Team. Its heard that he impose undue influence in the team using his seniority and records. India should learn from Aus.

This is the most upseting thing about India's Cricket team...their fans and the people who support them. Sachin, along with the rest of the sqaud are playing good cricket but the reason they aren't winning is because of the rise of international superstars. The Indian Cricket team needs to look at young talent more often then relying hevaily on three or four big name players. In a magazine I read while in Bombay (India Today) I read an article about a bowler named VJ Sharma who was considered a very good prospect to the team at the age of 19. Now, he is 21 and playing for (I belive its England). He is one of those few talents who packed their bags and decided to play for someone else who reconzied their talents.
Another thing that ticks me off is the politicains who suggested that the players be paid less if they do not perform as well. I laughed so hard when they said that, I mean c'mon their Indian politicans who get paid and make tons of illicit money and fall asleep in Senate meetings who are suggesting the players get paid less if they loose a game or two.
Basically, its not the teams fault and it is not the coach's fault either, its the recruting...I bet you their are players out their who are very good but do not get a chance to play due to the fact that some current players have connection with politicians and team sponseres (sorry for the speeling error)
ITS TIME WE START LOOKING AT OUR OWN INDIAN TALENT AND ALLWING YOUND PLAYERS TO TAKE OVER THE ROLE AS BATSMAN OR BOWLERS, ETC.
To answer your queston I belive he is not a disruvtive image to the indian team...

That’s a very good analysis of the game and you seem to be a real keen analyst who can understand how things go. But, if you can analyze it a little further you will see that the root cause is somewhat entirely different resulting the poor performance of the team and the below par performances by the little master along with Sehwag and some few. What actually happened is that there is no team spirit left in the team and everyone is for himself. All the players are scared as they do not know who will be playing their last international match and when: This is due to the fact that we are criticizing the wrong people instead of the real culprits. If you watched today’s match and the post match review conducted by Shastri, Gavaskar and Harsha Bhogle in ESPN then you will remember what Shastri said: -
Shastri: - Everybody has played badly and the only positive that has come out of the match is the way how Rahul batted. He showed strength and character and lot of heart. Others should learn from him how to bat and how to show determination. He is the top scorer and all the others should follow the leader.
And why India lost this match? Is it because Sachin and Sehwag failed or Pathan and Harbhajan bowled badly?
1.Our beloved captain ‘The Wall’ was unable to strike the iron when it was hot. 76 for 5 and Jahir was not introduced in the attack to make the kill.
2.Sachin was not bowled during the death overs though he troubled the batsman while the quick bowlers were just clobbered everywhere.
3.Sehwag was not given a chance to ball to slow down the pace.
4.He dropped a simple catch while fielding in the slips when Kemp was at his early 20’s
5.Kept Kaif in the forward short leg despite the experts stating a million times that Kaif jumps when the ball is released by the bowler even before the batsman offers a shot making it scientifically impossible (biomechanics) to hold onto a catch from that posture
6.Came to bat at no 3 and immediately started to anchor the innings by anchoring the score to 8 runs in 7 overs, 24 runs in 13 overs and so on triggering the asking rate to 7 from 5.25.
7.Giving a clear statement to all the others that it is not his duty to score any runs, as he will be busy digging a hole to anchor his innings. Therefore simultaneously the responsibility to hit boundaries or sixes, catching up with the asking run rate and all the other things needed to win the match will fall on
1.Tendulkar while Rahul will be anchoring and digging a hole.
2. Kaif ditto
3. Dinesh Kartik ditto
4. Dhoni ditto
5. Irfan Pathan ditto
6. Harbhajan ditto
7. Agarkar still ditto
8. Jaheer incredibly still ditto
The moment he comes into bat we lose 75% of the match at that moment and it will be needing a miracle from some other to fill the big hole that he digs each time to anchor his innings.
The only message that comes out while he bat’s is that you do not need to do anything at all to win matches and shamelessly score a 70-80 taking 120 or more balls to secure your place.
Till there are cover up artists like Shastri in the panel and captain like him the only way India can win is by fixing matches.

Yes, sachin is a true indian. Anyway, how do you define a true indian. In today's world of globalization, people from different countries are accepting awards and recognition from different other countries, does it mean that they don't love their country?. It just help to improve their country's pride. Look at maria sharapova, when we hear russian, we may think of her. Past is past US was also a colony once, Japan and US hated each other. Does that mean they still hate each other?. So whether Sachin accepts it or not, it's his personal decision. Anyone who is making it an issue is just trying for popularity. There are a lot of other things which we should be concerned rather than dealing with someone's personal matters :)

I agree with you to the extent that Sachin is not at all consistent and is not doing justice for his reputation as well as the faith entrjusted upon him by the Indian team and cricket lovers. However, unfortunately we are yet to have young talent to replace the senior players. Whichever young talent is inducted to the team is turning out to be failure. I earnestly hope that in future you may find many youngsters being tried out and once India find few youngsters of talent, the days of some of the seniors will be over.

As in the past I maintain that however big name may be, they should be included in the team only on basis of present performance and not by the past performance.Look at Aus. WI they have brought numberof new comers and not always talk of Viv. Llyod, Greedige etc. or Boarder, Boon. Harvey.Whereas in India. the media and the commentators always support these players. Once the big names are dropped, you will see the improveent.

Man o Man!!!!! what a superb answer......@ wonderreg........
the most analytical ans. i ever saw here at answers(cricket category) since ages......
i'll shout fr every single word u wrote....to add it i wud say.......
it was a ridiculously PATHETIC show of captaincy.....i was literally Fuming at dravid when he got zaheer out of the attack when he was almost unplayable.....it simply goes over my head tht fr wad bloody reason would dravid want to save zaheer's 3 overs left quota with SA already 6 wicket down?? had he gone fr d kill and attacked a bit more....they might even NOT hv played for 30 overs.....leave aside the tons they scored in the last 20 overs.....and then when he finally got back zaheer around the 45th over he fell victim to the shabby slogging......
when the hell will our team and particularly our CAPTAIN learn to F*&k off the traditional way of using our bowlers and use a bit of common sense. ....i guess the reason behind this is probably dat Mr. DICTATOR CHAPPELL is yet to dictate Dravid on the bowling front.......and all those chemistry lab types mixing and matching experimentations are only Meant and focused on batting....
i completely FAIL to understand what difference has dravid made or wad mark has he shown 'individually' as a CAPTAIN if we leave aside chappell......
"he's the best batsmen in terms of sticking to the notebook techniques".....but DAMN with that snail pace of his batting and team's frequently chasing 300+runs in ODI's.....wad's the use...... better respect his batting and make him a player of the sorts of justin langer of australia and let him explore his technical world in tests....
this's just one aspect of a thousand reasons that our team needs to talk and work on.......rather than playing volleyball and KHO-KHO on a cricket field and injuring the current best batsmen and biggest Match winner like Yuvraj....
talking of sachin....yup...he deserves being accused....but thinkin' of him being left out his stupid for the moment.....we first badly need to kick out players of d type sehwag and kaif....(whenever mr hitler Dictator Chappell) wishes...dravid's nothing to me 'nd i dun believe he's got any say...even in d final selection
what we do need to realize is sachin's still there to contribute..his presense matters....his experience does play its part...we may not see it directly........at least he wont look stupid in getting out like sehwag and kaif.......in the 1st match he was the lone warrior until he lost his concentration 'cuz of the constant fall of wickets.....and in the 2nd match........that to me was a super shot...he was just plain UNLUCKY not to get the elevation.....
if you are so keen on tracking sachin u may well be rem'berin' his Pathetic run prior to the last World-cup when there was twice as much pressure on him as it is now.....
and do i need to tell you what happenned and wad he did in that world cup??
so cheer up dude........give time to sachin and realize that we do need to start kicking the totally unworthy others out of the team first.....

MAY NOT BE. BUT REAL SOLUTION?
RESPONSIBILITY HAS TO GO ALONG WITH ACCOUTABILITY.
HOW?
DRAVID be removed from CAPTAINCY and ODI-Why?
The worst captain-
could not control SA from 6 wicket down for 76; finally SA made 275.
Any 18yrs child can do better job.
He made 63 in 103 balls and it is equvalent of 184 in 50 overs. This means he played for his retaintion in the team but not for win of INDIA.
HE SCORED +50 for 63 but SCORED (NEGETIVE) -100 for playing TEST Match in ODI.
The net score of dravid is (negative)-50. This means he can play TEST but he shall be removed from ODI side of INDIA.
Shri DHONI be made CAPTAIN- Why?
He scored 55 in 48 balls, this is equivalent to 344 runs in 50 overs. Therefore he played for win of INDIA. HE GOT 50 FOR SCORING 55, and 100 FOR PLAYING FOR WIN OF INDIA and not mere for his retaintion in the team.
THEREFORE DHONI WITH 150 MARKS OUT OF 100 WILL THE CAPTAIN IN THE NEXT ODI
Shri DRAVID WITH (-)50 SCORE SHALL BE DROPPED FROM ODI AND RESERVED FOR TEST ONLY.
This is one example.
What others?
pay proportion to performance
if team win alright, if not remove 2 bat'mn, 2 blrs, 1 all rounder, keeper (if did badly).
if could not win series;
remove captain, coach, selectors, BCCI,
Make a fresh selection of the team.
IT WILL CERTAINLY WORK.
