This means that as the insect increases in size, they have less surface area in which they bring air into their body. This is one of the ways that the size of insects is limited to being fairly small, as their body design doesn't scale up very well.

Of course they do. Just about all life forms on earth need oxygen to live. Most insects breathe right through thier 'skin'.

No, they breathe purely off of nitrogen even though every living animal needs oxygen to be able to breathe.
