Switching birth control with out a doctors permission would not be safe. Doctors match you to birth controls by examining your history, such as irregular cycles, severe menstrual, prior birth controls, side effects, prior pregnancy's and the list goes on. By switching with out the consent of your doctor you can potentially be putting your body through many hormonal imbalances. Talk to your doctor they will recommend whats best for you, every women's different. Mention the birth control your interested in, if theirs no problem they will change you and best of all you'll be under the docs supervision in case of a bad reaction or any problems.

When you say "brands" of birth control, I assume you mean pills or a patch. If you mean condoms, though, it doesn't matter one way or another to your doctor. You can't change prescription birth control without consulting your doctor first though. Besides, if there are bad side effects from switching, your doctor needs to know so you can both look at other alternatives.

No theres no need, unless its a prescribed POM (prescription only medicine) then yeah you would definetly need the doc's advise..I don't think you can switch without the Dr prescribing anyway?!

no you should definitely ask your doctor first. the reason he/she probably put you on the one you're on is because its better for you than another brand.
