"- -" is right.
"not even that" if you as you don't feel so inclined. That's your programming. Genes and Memes.
(Note that the most successful reproductive strategy may occur, in the long run, in ordered tribes and societies, not in a wild free for all.)
But being self-aware, can we create our own purposes, our own meanings? Or just the illusion of them, (and will that do just as well in terms of personal satisfaction) ?
See "The Robot's Rebellion: Finding Meaning in the Age of Darwin " for Keith Stanovich's discussion on the implications of a Darwinian world view, and whether that leaves human beings trapped, free or lost.
Not an easy read, but mind-stretching.

Evolution is the truth, but it does'nt tell you how to live! If you had'nt discovered it, then maybe you'd have had a lot more children or whatever. The thing is nowadays that we know a lot about ourselves, and you can live any way you like. As i read in a book called "Biology as Ideology," the author, i cannot remember, but he said that perhaps our consciousness can now transcend our genes. You cannot change too easily your innate desire to have sex, but you can be aware of the process and nature's intention that life continue beyond you.

Survival and reproduction are only 2 of a bevy of tools evolution employs.
Your only DUTY would be to fight entropy.
Evolution has created ever more complex organisms, many have in turn created complex hives or societies, ordered their surroundings, and in our case even tried to create more order at the atomic level.

yes, it is the basis of natural selection and survival of the fittest. The more (in theory of course) that you reproduce the stronger your genes become.

Evolution does not tell people what to do or how to live. It explains how we got here. As the old saw goes: "Sex is hereditary. If your parents didn't have it, you probably won't either."
